Enough is Enough
Teachers strike as the new month dawns;
children, again, the unfortunate pawns.
On conditions and pay
teachers must have their say –
but our government sits back and yawns.

Lacerated Earth
It is 4.17 am.
On the border,
The earth moves; it
Unleashes wrath.
The month is only six days old.
UN convoys,
Swift on the scene
To aid, feed, help.
Amid chaos and destruction,
Joy: a live boy.
But still: the earth,
Lacerated.

24.02.23
2022:
The Russians invade Ukraine
on this very day.
2023:
anniversary of pluck,
strength, and resistance.
